The Magician’s Guild

This is the first book in The Black Magician series that Trudi Canavan wrote and in this story an orphan teenage girl named Sonea gets caught up in a protest.

As the crowd of people that Sonea was with threw their stones at the magicians, as the day was called the purge, and in her anger towards the magicians, Sonea discovers that she can do magic and it happened right in front of the magicians. Then what happen was she threw a stone and made it go through their magical barrier.

This stone that Sonea threw then hit a magician named Fergen on his temple and knocked him out. Then the magicians killed a person that was standing next to Sonea. They then saw that it wasn’t the person that they just killed as they realised that it was Sonea. She then ran and as she accepted her friend named Cery help she went into hiding and Cery took her to The Thieves.

As the magicians were looking for her and at the time Sonea and Cery believed that the magicians wanted to kill her.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

This is the third book in this series that J.K. Rowling wrote, and, in this book, Harry gets a permission form that needs to be signed by Uncle Vernon. Then as Uncle Vernon’s sister was coming for a visit Harry decides, to make a deal with Uncle Vernon.

Harry’s deal with Uncle Vernon was, that Harry had agreed to be nice and polite with Aunt Marge and if all goes well then Uncle Vernon agreed to sign this permission form. As the signed permission form would allow Harry to visit Hogsmead.

However, the permission form that enabled Harry to go to Hogsmead never did get signed by Uncle Vernon.

As Aunt Marge, being very opinionated rather likes taunting Harry, and she was drinking a lot of alcohol at the time.

Then as she was quite nasty to Harry, he lost control and made Aunt Marge, swell up, then she rose and floated in the air as if she was a balloon.

Harry then thought he was going to be expelled from Hogwarts, and so he got his trunk and school things etc… and left. Though before he accidently signalled for The Knight Bus Harry thought that something was nearby and was watching him. He then got on the bus, and after recognizing a photograph in the newspaper that Stan Shunpike was reading, Stan Shunpike then tells Harry about what he thought he knew about Sirius Black.

Though Stan Shunpike thought he was talking to Neville Longbottom.

Robert Galbraith

Robert Galbraith is one of the pseudonyms of J.K. Rowling, and she writes crime stories under this name. I also happen to like these stories that are about Cormorant Strike and Robin better than Casual Vacancy.

The Cuckoo’s Calling
