The Rouge

The Rouge is the second book in the Traitor Spy Trilogy that Trudi Canavan wrote, and in this book Lorkin is trying to find out how he can use his healing powers. However, there is a woman that works in the ward that doesn’t seem to approve. He also seemed fascinated at seeing some gemstones that were in a cave and had talked one of the men into taking him there so that he can explore. As Lorkin wants to learn more about the magic that the people that live in the sanctuary use.

Also, at first, Lorkin wasn’t allowed to see the young lady he fancies, after her trial however, he ends up finding a way, and Lorkin seems to have the queen’s approval.

He had also found out what his father had promised but had failed to deliver and Lorkin pointed out that his Father had promised them something that he wasn’t able to do, and Lorkin wanted to help them establish a way that they can learn to heal their sick, but they also didn’t want people know where they could find them.

Meanwhile, Lorkin’s Mother is still busy doing what she can to find rouge magicians, and the guild discovered that two female novices had found a book on black magic, and one of them had succeeded in teaching herself how to use black magic.

Though even though Lillia had blood on her hands when she was questioned about how a person died. As her friend that she loved found her father, dead and she had told the higher magicians that Lillia had done it. However, as Lillia was intoxicated at the time, she doesn’t remember that she had killed this person.

Then as Lorkin has talked Dannil out of continuing to search for him, as the traitors wanted to keep the location of their sanctuary a secret. Dannil then agreed and he went back to his research and as he discovered a book that was written before the Satchacan War he finds out about a gem that is called The Source Stone.

Dannil also found out that a magician that had The Source Stone had lost control of it and that this accident had created The Waste Land.
