Eat It to Beat It

This audiobook was narrated by David Zinczenko who is also the author and his talk about nutrition and how many calories we actually consume when we eat out is mind boggling!

He also gave some healthy alternatives as well.

Like when choosing a breakfast cereal rolled oats is the healthiest breakfast, and if we want to eat yoghurt or ice cream then it is better that we add the fruit ourselves.

David also tells us that eating a bit of dark chocolate can help reduce the risk of having a stroke and being insulin resistant. Then other things that he discusses is that having red meat occasionally reduces depression and that when we choose to eat veggies or if we decide to eat a vegetarian meal or are vegetarian, we lower the risk of getting diabetes.

  1. Some places, like The Coffee Club, list calories on their menus. Even their salads are high in calories, almost twice the daily allowance I had on the Fast800 diet.

  2. Hi Melissa, thanks for taking the time to comment on this post, and I have heard that a lot of people who have tried the Fast800 diet not only lost weight but was able to turn their health around too, like if they had type 2 diabetes. I also come across another interesting book that Charles Duhigg wrote, and it’s called “The Power of Habit.” As this book gives clear examples on how a person’s habits can develop into patterns.
