This audiobook is by Tom and Meg Keneally and in this story Monsarrat, goes straight to work. As he tries to figure out another crime that took place in the new area where he and Mrs Mahrooney live.
However, Monsarrat is pretty sure that the woman who is the prime suspect of the murder is innocent, but he can only go to the female factory in the daytime hours.
This is also why I think Monsarrat decides to enlist Mrs Mahrooney’s help.
As she goes to the female factory and eventually the women talk to her about things, and she tells Monsarrat what they talk to her about.
Then one of the things that Mrs Mahrooney told Monsarrat about is that there was a woman known as the Pirate Queen.
This book is by Ken Follett, and I have read the book version and thought it was very long and imaginative. I’ve also listened to this story as an audiobook that was narrated by John Lee and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The story is about a man named Tom Builder who is travelling, with his family as he tries to find work after losing a building job.
Then as Tom has dreamt of building a Cathedral, he is determined that, that will be his next job. However, his pregnant wife whose name is Agnes dies after giving birth to a boy which Tom abandoned, though the newborn is later found by a monk.
This monk then takes the infant to his monastery and the baby is named Jonathon.
Later on, Tom Builder finds work at this same church in Kingsbridge after a fire was deliberately lit. Though not by Tom.
