Harry Potter and that Potions Book

Something else that I have been thinking about is how did Harry Potter ended up with the used and very informative potions book that was owned by The Half-Blood Prince.

As we discovered in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince that:

It was Professor Severus Snape that had called himself that back in his school years at Hogwarts.

Also, the name wasn’t widely known as in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Harry asked Remus Lupin if he had heard of the Half Blood Prince?

Remus then told Harry that he hadn’t.

We also know that Albus Dumbledore asked Professor Snape to help Draco Malfoy and perhaps Professor Severus Snape was also trying to help Harry as well.

I also, don’t think that Severus Snape would leave a school textbook of his in a storeroom.

So, I am thinking that perhaps Professor Snape had put his old textbook there if he knew that his old textbook was going to be given to Harry to use.

As maybe perhaps to make sure that Harry was the one that gets his textbook and not Ron, he might have used the Imperious Curse on Horace Slughorn.

As perhaps Professor Snape would’ve wanted Harry to know that he had called himself The Half Blood Prince, and he did get the chance to tell Harry that he was The Half Blood Prince: near the end of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Also no one knew who The Half Blood Prince was although Hermione did some research and suggested that the person might’ve been a female.

She also found out that there was an Eileen Prince who was Severus Snape’s Mother.

However, there were people who knew that a dark spell called Sectumsampra was a spell that Severus Snape used, and he asked Harry to give him the book. Then perhaps why he asked for the book as he might’ve expected Harry had been using his old textbook all year and Professor Snape might not have wanted it traced back to him.

Though Harry hid The Half Blood Prince’s textbook in a cupboard that was in The Room of Requirement, and it was highly likely that this book was destroyed by Fiend Fire which had happened later on in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Lily Potter’s Sacrificial Charm

Hagrid told Harry when he took Harry to Diagon Alley for the first time that no one knows why he survived the killing curse and that is why people called him:

“The Boy Who Lived.” Though perhaps Albus Dumbledore knew why Harry had survived.

As Albus Dumbledore knew that Severus Snape had asked Voldemort to not kill Lily and Voldemort for some reason agreed but Severus Snape didn’t trust Voldemort.

So, this is why Severus Snape went to Albus Dumbledore for help and he agreed but Albus Dumbledore told Severus that he was disgusted.

As Albus Dumbledore told Severus Snape that he didn’t care about Lily’s son or husband as long as he got what he wanted.

It is also known that Albus Dumbledore spoke to James Potter and Albus offered to be the Potter’s secret keeper, but James preferred Sirius Black.

However, Sirius declined, and Peter Pettigrew ended up being it and Voldemort somehow found out as Pettigrew revealed their location to Lord Voldemort.

Although Lily did have a choice to live however though she had to let her son die, but she didn’t want that.

Also, by standing in the way and being defenseless she ended up dying.

Then this led to a sacrificial charm being cast (an extremely rare occurrence) and when Voldemort tried to kill Harry the curse rebounded.

Voldemort also unknowingly made a horcrux. As Harry was still alive and Voldemort was too as he had made other horcruxes.

However, Voldemort was now changed into something else, and he then fled the scene.

Albus Dumbledore somehow knew that Voldemort hadn’t died, and he told Severus Snape that there are ways that Voldemort could return.

Then Severus Snape agreed to help Albus Dumbledore.

As the headmaster told Severus Snape that Harry needed to be protected.

He also told Severus that Harry will be in danger when Voldemort returns. Though Harry had to live with Vernon and Petunia Dursley.

As Petunia was Lily’s older sister and Harry’s only living relative.

Also, Albus Dumbledore wrote Petunia Dursley a letter when he left Harry on the doorstep.

Then even though the Potters and the Dursleys didn’t get on the Dursleys allowed Harry to live with them.

As perhaps the Dursleys did this because of whatever Albus Dumbledore had written in that letter.

Did Professor Snape Know?

Lately, I been thinking about this storyline in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince where Albus Dumbledore tells Professor Snape that Harry has a Horcrux inside him. So, he tells Professor Snape that Harry must die. Harry’s death was also foretold by the Centaurs but then all they would tell Hagrid was that “Mars was bright tonight.”

Albus Dumbledore also told Professor Snape that when he sees that Voldemort is protecting Nagini that it’ll be the ideal time to tell Harry what he needed to know.

Professor Snape also tried very hard to find Harry near the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows too.

Then in the book version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Professor Snape sees Professor McGonagall in the corridor and he asks her if she has seen Harry Potter.

Professor McGonagall answered Professor Snape by attempting to attack him but he doesn’t fight her, and he leaves Hogwarts.

She yells out to Professor Snape then that he’s a coward and it was also her that used the Imperious Curse to capture, the Callows or Carrows.

Professor Snape also told the school that he had heard that Harry Potter was spotted in Hogsmeade and asked if anyone had any information.

Also, Professor Snape still wanted to find Harry when Professor Snape was with Voldemort especially when he realized that Voldemort had Nagini protected.

Professor Snape was then bitten by Nagini after Voldemort gave the order to kill and also after he had explained to Severus Snape his doubts about The Elder Wand.

Then Harry appeared after Voldemort left and Professor Snape wanted Harry to look at him and Professor Snape told Harry what Albus Dumbledore told him.

Which was years ago now, and that was that Harry had his, Mother’s eyes and then Professor Snape gave Harry his memories.

Hermione then came out of hiding too and gave Harry a flask to put them in.

Though what comes to my mind is perhaps Professor Snape didn’t know all of Albus Dumbledore’s plans.

As Professor Snape knew that the headmaster was giving Harry private lessons, but he didn’t know what these private lessons were about.

Until Albus Dumbledore had explained that Harry had a horcrux inside him and that he had to be killed. However, Albus Dumbledore knew something of The Deathly Hallows and The Tale of the Three Brothers.

Perhaps Professor Snape knew of this story too but maybe he didn’t believe in The Deathly Hallows? Also, one of the things that Grindelwald and Albus tried to do together was to find the Deathly Hallows as Grindelwald was interested in The Elder Wand.

While Albus Dumbledore admitted years later that he was interested in finding The Stone that was in The Tale of the Three Brothers story.

Then for some unknown reason Harry’s Father gave Albus Dumbledore his invisibility cloak. As when the headmaster examined it, he realized that the cloak was a hallow and gave the cloak to Harry.

Albus Dumbledore fought Grindelwald to claim The Elder Wand but the fact that Grindelwald then Albus Dumbledore had The Elder Wand was kept secret as no one knew.

The headmaster also kept a close eye on Tom Riddle after Hagrid was expelled. He also did whatever he could to find out about Tom Riddle’s past and what he was doing now.

Then why Harry had to take the risk by facing The Avada Kadava Curse as like venom from a basilisk it was the only way to get rid of the horcrux inside Harry. Though Harry, Hermione, and Ron discovered after they got out of The Room of Requirement that Fiendfyre destroys horcuxes too. I also happen to think too that until Harry had made the decision to face The Avada Kadava Curse:

That not even Albus Dumbledore knew that Harry Potter would survive the killing curse a second time.

Also, Mr Ollivander told Harry when they met the first time that the wand chooses, the wizard though it isn’t clear why.

Then when they met again, Harry asked Mr Ollivander whether it was necessary to kill a wizard to claim ownership of their wand and Mr Ollivander told him no.

Also, the fact that Harry asked this question to Mr Ollivander makes me think that Harry must’ve been worried that he had to do that.

He also must’ve felt relieved to find out that he didn’t have to kill Voldemort and when Harry finally faced Voldemort for the last time:

Harry knew that The Elder Wand wasn’t working for Voldemort. As even though Voldemort was using it he could not harm Harry.
