This book is by Matt Haig, and it is about a thirty-five, year old woman named Nora Seed who had a lot of potential to do something with her life like:
She could’ve competed in the Olympics but didn’t.
As when she discovered the midnight library, she realized that she’d liked swimming, but she no longer wanted to compete as Nora didn’t like the pressure.
She also thought that she wasn’t a good cat owner. As she presumed that her cat was hit by a car as her cat died on the side of the road and she called her ginger cat Volts.
Though it was only after she was transported to the midnight library and was talking to Mrs Elm who was the librarian at her school, about Volts that:
Nora was told that he was a happy cat and why she was transported to the midnight library is because she decided that she didn’t want to live and so:
She made a decision to overdose on her antidepressants.
As Nora being a depressed person had suffered from depression and anxiety for years.
I thought this story was a bit similar to A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but Matt Haig’s story about the midnight library was still original.
