This audiobook is by Rusty Baker and this author points out that children don’t just read books to learn but they want to be entertained too. Also, to maintain a child’s interest the book needs to be on subjects that children are interested in. Such as if the child is very young and likes dogs then it’ll be very likely they be interested in reading books that are about dogs and it’s a very good idea to test our stories on children we know.
As asking children questions about what they thought of a story will give us some idea on what age group are ideal for our stories.
We also need to write a storyline for our stories too, as it will help us to know what to write about and it will prevent writer’s block as well.
Then what else is important when we’re writing our stories for children is that we need to answer their questions about the story. Otherwise, the child would lose interest in reading the story.
